How to make a heart of rubber bands Rainbow Loom in stages on a small machine

Rubber bands weaving is at the peak of popularity. In this step by step instruction we’ll demonstrate you how to weave keychain in the form of a heart by using a mini-machine Monster Tail.

If you take thicker rubber bands, the figure will be more voluminous.

After several trainings the weaving process will take 5-10 minutes. Follow the instruction carefully and you won’t need to watch the video.

You need:
1

We'll start

The first rubber band goes on the first column of the lower row, twist it around the same column twice. We’ve got three revs of twisted rubber band.

Perform the same action on the third column.

Take two rubber bands, they must go on the third column of the lower row and the side one on the right. The next two rubber bands must go on the first column of the lower row and the upper row of the middle column.

We'll start

2

Put and twist the rubber bands

The next two rubber bands must go on the first column of the lower row and the first column of the upper row. Then two rubber bands must go on the last lower column and the last upper column.

Using a crochet hook, take the twisted in three turns rubber band on the lower layer first and throw off the column. The rubber bands which go criss-cross from the first column look like the knitted ones. Repeat the same with the rubber bands of the lower layer on the third column.

Take two rubber bands of the upper layer from the third column of the lower row and place them on the middle column in the lower row (if we pull them, you can see that they are on the third column of the upper row).

3

Work with columns of the lower and upper rows

Take two upper rubber bands from the first column of the lower row and place them on the side column on the left (if you pull them, you can see that they are on the first column of the upper row).

Distribute for yourself:

  • The left side column and the lower three columns are the columns of the lower row.
  • Side right and the upper three columns are four columns of the upper row.

Take one rubber band, place it on the fourth lower column of the lower row. Stretch it through the machine to the left and place it behind the first side column of the lower row.

4

Throw off the horizontal rubber band

Place two rubber bands on the lower column on the right and place it nearby on the side column. Repeat the same action with the left side column and the upper one.

Using a crochet hook throw off the horizontal rubber band from the first and the fourth column of the lower row. To do this, pull it a little bit aside in order not to pull the other ones. Hold the rubber bands which are on the top to prevent them from falling down.

Throw off the horizontal rubber band

5

Throw the rubber bands off the right side columns

Similarly, throw it off the fourth column of the lower row.

We throw two rubber bands off the side right and the end right lower column.

Throw the rubber bands off the right side columns

6

We reduce the area of weaving to six columns

Throw two rubber bands off the left side and the first column of the upper row.

Lower the rubber bands down on the machine.

We reduce the area of weaving from eight columns to six. Take two rubber bands from the second column of the lower row, throw them off and place them on the next one – the third column of the lower row.

7

Release the side columns

Using the crochet hook, take two rubber bands from the side column on the left and place them on the vacant first lower column.

Take two rubber bands from the last column of the upper row and place them on the middle column.

Release the right side column and place the rubber band on the lower end column. The side columns are not involved in weaving any more.

Release the side columns

8

Throw on two rubber bands

Take two rubber bands and throw them horizontally on the three lower columns.

Place a pair of rubber bands vertically on all columns. First, place two rubber bands on the first upper column and the first lower one. Then, place two rubber bands on the second lower and the second upper column.

9

Remove the rubber bands from the lower row

Then place two rubber bands on the upper third and lower third column.

We throw the horizontal rubber band off. Raise it with the help of the crochet hook, direct it over three columns and release.

Throw the lower layer of the rubber bands off the each lower column.

There are four rubber bands on the middle columns in the lower layer. The two rubber bands we’ve just put on these columns should remain. Throw everything that is under them off.

Remove the rubber bands from the lower row

10

Put off the upper row

Turn the machine and throw all the rubber bands of the lower layer off the remaining columns. Don’t forget, there are four of them in the middle column. We leave the two upper ones, the rest of them must be removed. Turn the machine back.

Put off the upper row

11

Put on the rubber bands again

Carefully lower everything you’ve got down on the machine.

Put on one rubber band on three columns of the lower row. Hold the rubber band tight, twist it in the form eight figure and place it on the second and third column, place the rubber band lower. Place two rubber bands vertically on all the columns.

Put on the rubber bands again

12

Now we throw off

After that, take one side of the horizontal double rubber band, stretch it and throw it off three columns. Take the remaining second side and throw it off the two columns. After that, throw all the rubber bands of the lower layer off the three lower columns.

Now we throw off

13

Put on a horizontal rubber band

Then-off the three upper columns.

Take one rubber band, place it on three columns of the lower row. Stretch the rubber band, hold it and twist it in the form of eight figure and place the second side on three columns again. The rubber band should be twisted in half. Lower it down.

Put on a horizontal rubber band

Put one rubber band on each side column. Put two rubber bands vertically on the second columns.

Put on a horizontal rubber band

14

Release the end columns

Take the rubber band twisted in two turns and throw it off. After that, we throw all the rubber bands of the lower layer off. There must be two rubber bands on the second columns. One rubber band must be on the end columns. We need to place the rubber bands from the end columns into the center on the second ones.

Release the end columns

Take the rubber band and place it on the central column of the same row. Do the same with the rubber band of the right column and the end rubber bands of the upper side columns – place them in turn on the central column of the upper layer. Hold the rubber bands in the center to prevent them from falling down.

Release the end columns

15

Final stage

All the rubber bands must be placed on the second columns.

Take one rubber band and place it on top of the central columns. Then we throw all the rubber bands which are under it off. We have only four rubber bands, throw two off.

Final stage

We throw all the rubber bands which are under the upper column off. Turn the machine, leave the upper rubber band and throw all the others off.

Final stage

16

Heart is ready

All we need to do is to make a knot. Take off one rubber band with the help of the crochet hook, put the crochet hook from the bottom to the top and take off the second one. Straighten all the rubber bands in the heart. After that, drag the first loop through the second one. The knot is tighten, otherwise it will untie and the figure will fall apart. Hide the loop inside. Push the crochet hook inside, take the loop and pull it inside. It’s better to drag the crochet hook through the horizontal rubber bands inside.

Heart is ready

Give the right shape to the heart and straighten it.
