Cabbage is as useful as carrots or cucumber. We see it most often in autumn when it’s harvest time.
You can draw a cabbage to entertain your child. Though it seems too difficult, it’s very easy to draw it and after one drawing lesson your child will be able to draw this vegetable on his or her own.
Basis
We start with the basis, with the circle. Draw the future cabbage big, use a compass to do this. Try to have enough space for the leaves on the sheet.
Division
Now divide the cabbage into two parts. Draw an uneven diagonal line. It can end above or below the center.
Adjusting the shape
From the line of division start drawing the shape of the vegetable. It mustn’t be smooth, cabbage is not perfectly round.
Do the same with the second part of the cabbage. Lines can bend and go beyond the circle but not over a long distance.
First layer
Start drawing the leaves around the cabbage. Draw them with the help of wavy and curved lines. Leaves can be not of the same size.
Second layer
Around the first layer, draw the next leaves with the help of the same chaotic, uneven lines.
To make the vegetable look voluminous, draw a small irregular semi-circle on the right side.
Correction
Now start correcting the drawing. Erase the circle, it’s not needed any more. If there are any extra lines, they should also be removed.
Veins
The cabbage leaves have noticeable veins. Draw them in the form of the curved lines in any number.
Details
Finish your drawing by adding small details – the veins on the leaves.
Coloring
Color the cabbage in traditional shades of green. Though there’s also a violet cabbage. So the choice is yours.
