Pouch on the beak
We’ll need three additional figures to make it easier to draw a pelican – they are three circles of different sizes. We’ll mark the beak’s pouch at first.
Use your compass but don’t press on your pencil too much. The circle will differ its form later.
We’ll mark it with the help of a small oval.
Draw it in the form of a small circle at the top.
Start connecting the head and the body, drawing the long neck.
Carefully erase extra lines.
Wings and beak
These birds have large wings.
The beak is also big. Its length can reach up to 47 cm. The hook is at the end of it. There is a highly tensile leather pouch on the lower side of the beak. Pelicans use it to catch fish.
Add long feathers.
Pelicans are slamming the water with their wings and beaks and dislodge the scared fish in the shallow water.
Add it throughout the body.
Now we’ve finished to draw the head.
They are short, but very strong. The fingers are connected with the help of a swimming membrane.
Correcting the contours
The drawing is ready. Erase all extra details and mark the contours.
