Kubo is a simple boy, who lives on the ocean’s shore in a small village, he loves music. He earns for a living by playing a two-stringed guitar… Once the dark forces went looking for Kubo and his mother. The reason was the boy’s father, a brave samurai who died on the battlefield. Now an imperceptible Kubo has to learn the skills of the samurai to protect his village…
Let’s try to draw a brave boy Kubo. Our step by step instruction will simplify your task. Good Luck!
Head
Draw an oval and draw the ears at the sides.
Hair
Don’t forget about a distinctive feature of the samurai – the hair twisted in a bunch.
Start drawing the neck and the body lines.
Kimono
It widens at the bottom.
Left arm
It’s slightly curved.
Right arm
Draw it lowered down.
Details of the kimono
Draw a belt – it’s an obligatory element of the kimono. Draw a few vertical lines at the bottom, they will serve as a pattern.
Small details
Draw Kubo’s hand, the edge of the belt and the bag, the armor of a samurai is put in it.
Legs
They are straight, standing next to each other.
Face and shoes
Draw the face’s details: an eyebrow and an eye (we see only the right part of the face, the left part of it is covered with a bang), a smile and a nose.
Also draw his shoes.
Guitar
The boy always has his guitar next to him, even when it’s a battle. The character has it behind his back. We can only see a part of a soundboard of the guitar and a fretboard.
You can offer your child to draw a guitar if he or she likes the music, it won’t take much time.
