You need a clock not to be late. They are everywhere: at school, in the park, in the street. They are of different sizes and forms. They are wrist watches, wall clocks, electronic clocks and watches. Though the electronic clocks are in fashion, the traditional clocks are still hanging on the wall and ticking.
We offer you to draw a wall clock. It’s easy to do, you can engage your child in this activity.
Basis
Draw a big even circle. Use your compass to draw the figure in order to make it even.
Inner part
Draw another circle inside.
Framing
There are no patterns on the clocks’ rims, but there are a lot of lines. That’s why draw another circle between the circles.
Draw one more hardly visible circle near the first figure.
The last one draw inside. There will be a clock face.
Center
We put the clock in the square. We should get to know where the center of each square’s side is to mark the clock’s center correctly. Draw the straight lines from them. The center will be on their intersecting point.
Main marks
You can make the main temporary marks with the help of the lines which have helped to mark the center: twelve, three, six and nine o’clock.
Remaining marks
Make the remaining strokes, which show the time between the main marks at the same distance. Erase the square.
Each of the marks ends with the rounded edges.
Minute hand
Draw a long minute hand from the center. It can show any time.
Hour hand
The hour hand is much shorter. Use your ruler to make the hands even.
Coloring
The clock is ready, we only need to color them. You can use the colors you can see in the picture. The more interesting variant is to play play with colors.
We have one more offer – to color the clock online.
