How to draw a table (+ coloring)

Children don’t always know the rules of behavior at the table. And when you tell them the rules they don’t always listen. You can tell your child about the rules in the process of a table drawing. Children memorize much more information while drawing, than when you just tell them. Drawing also develops  the child’s fine motor skills.

You need:
1

Basis

Draw a big rectangle, that lies. To make it easier, you can draw an axis line at first and  then draw a table’s basis  using your ruler.

Basis

2

Width

The table can’t be flat, it has a width. It’s drawn from the front table’s corners. The width is drawn only on the first two edges of the table because the rest of the sides are hidden.

3

Front table's leg

Draw the first table’s leg in a form of a rectangle under the near corner.

4

Length designation

Draw two lines under the first table’s leg at the bottom which are connected in the leg’s center. They will make the table’s legs be of the same length. It will be easy to find its center if you draw a vertical line from the corner to the bottom.

5

Corners

Erase carefully the leg’s corners which are behind the length line to form the necessary detail’s shape.

Table's legs

Draw the second rectangle under the second angle, its corners go beyond the table.

Table's legs

Draw the third table’s leg under the far corner. The table is turned in three quarters, that’s why the last table’s leg can’t be seen.

Correction

Give a proper shape to the table’s legs and erase all the details that go beyond the line or the table. Table’s legs should be under the basis.

8

Remove the line

We don’t need the line any more because the table’s legs have already been drawn. Erase it carefully.

9

Legs' form

Correct the form of the second and the third legs making them look more voluminous.

10

Corners

Add the corners in the form of the vertical lines to make the table’s legs look more voluminous.

Lower part

The table’s basis has a lower part which prevents the details from disconnection. Draw it at a small distance from the basis.

Lower part

Erase the unnecessary lines, which go beyond the borders.

Lengthening

The table is too low after we’ve drawn the lower part. You can leave it. The table will be for a child then. Or you can make the table’s legs longer.

Coloring

The table is traditionally being colored into a brown color. But you can find the furniture of any color nowadays. So you can get creative. If  you want to complete your drawing, you can draw a vase with flowers which will be on the table.

Coloring

You have also an opportunity to color the table online. Choose the colors and start coloring.
