Have you heard about unicorns as the fabulous characters? So, in real life they do exist also. They live in the deep sea and they are called narwhals. They are similar to dolphins in some way. Probably it’s because of their body shape. But they have a special difference that will not allow you to confuse the “aquatic unicorn” with another sea animal – the tusk. The narwhals live in the latitudes of the Arctic ocean, so they use their tusks to break the ice which is up to 5 cm thick to get a breath of a fresh air. Some people say that the tusk has thousands of nerve endings, which help the fish to detect the temperature and the water pressure. This animal is included in the Red book in Russia.
Now the narwhal is not only the sea creature, but also the hero of our drawing instructions for kids.
Head
Draw a head shape in the form of an oval. Place it on the sheet of paper slightly inclined.
Body
Smoothly draw a body with the help of two rounded lines from the head. The lines are narrowing at the bottom.
The tip must be sharp.
Narwhal’s body shape resembles a Dolphin narwhal.
Tail
It consists of two fins.
Tusk
It’s amazing but the narwhal’s tusk is so flexible that it can unbend in different directions at 30 cm and not break.
Mouth
You need only one short line with a raised end to draw it.
Eyes
Narwhals have eyes of a medium size.
Continue drawing the tusk
Separate it into parts with the help of oblique lines.
Ventral fins
They are in the ventral part of the body. They are paired.
Coloring
Narwhals’ color is light on the paunch and the sides, and dark on the top.
