Sometimes it’s hard to draw some parts of the body. The child tries, but he or she can’t do it right. One say, that eyes and ears are the most difficult parts of human body for drawing. They can be different on your drawing or some of the details can be uneven.
If your child draws someone’s profile, it’s necessary to draw an ear. Teach him or her to draw one of the head’s parts in your free time to make your child be proud of himself or herself.
Basis
Draw a basis which will help us to draw an ear. This helps to draw the correct details and not to go beyond the borders.
Upper part
The upper part looks like a circle, that’s why draw this figure. A circle occupies the half of the rectangle and doesn’t go beyond its borders. Use your compass to make the figure of a necessary size.
Lower part
The lower part is much smaller. Draw it in the form of an elongated oval which is applied to the circle.
Connection
Connect parts of the ear with the help of curved lines to create an outline.
The lines are not the same in curves and size. It’s because the ear’s sides are rough.
Basis removing
You can erase the basis. Try not to mar the circle in the contact areas of the figure and its borders.
Details' correction
Give the right shape to your ear and erase the figures’ parts inside the outline.
Helix
The most seen part of the ear is called helix and it’s drawn in a form of a semicircle which separates the skin from the inner auricles.
It’s not perfectly even, draw the left part of it curved inside.
Antilobium
Draw the antilobium under the auricle in a form of inverted tooth. It protects the ear canal.
Earlobe
Draw a curved line which will look like a smile at the bottom. You need it to give a volume to the earlobe.
Antihelix
Draw an antihalix in the form of a curved line which connects with the antilobium. It’s called so because it’s curved in the opposite direction to the helix.
Look at your drawing attentively and correct the lines.
Giving the right form
Add some several short lines inside the outline by adding curves. There are a lot of auricles inside the ear and they are connected with the help of partitions to each other. Draw them.
Correct the earlobe a little bit. You can look in the mirror to make sure that the lower part seems to be a little bit drawn down.
Correct the form and carefully erase the unnecessary details.
Giving a shape
Circle the ear’s outline from the inside.
You need to circle it to give your ear the volume and make it look real.
You should circle all the lines, even the smallest ones.
The distance between the lines should be minimal, you need to circle taking into account all lines’ curves.
Look at your drawing and make sure that all lines are circled.
Inner details
Draw curved lines inside the auricle. They will create the impression that the ear is rounded.
Coloring
Color the ear using pink, wine red and nude shades. Pay attention that the inner part of the ear is shaded, because it’s blocked by the auricles.
