S. Duran presented a bow tie as a symbol of the automobile company in 1913. Color variations of the emblem were changed, but the shape and the design remained unchanged. There are different versions of the symbol’s origin:
- Duran liked the wallpaper print in one of the restaurants. He tore off a piece of patterned fabric and decided that it was a good idea for a logo.
- His daughter narrated in her book that her father liked to draw different icons at the dinner table in his free time. She saw this logo among his masterpieces.
- Duran’s wife narrated that he saw a similar symbol on the page of a glossy magazine when he had his vacation.
- There’s a version that the emblem is a stylized version of the cross on the Swiss flag. Every story has a right to be truth.
